Celiac disease represents a condition which I do not think about often enough in a differential diagnosis. Because symptoms are often non-specific and can occur at any age, it probably goes undiagnosed for periods of time in any practice. With the increasing incidence of obesity, glucose intolerance and diabetes we can probably expect to see more of it. Case finding for this disorder is now easier because of an available non-invasive test, and I am hoping that if I refer frequently enough to this short review, I will begin to think of the diagnosis as a possibility more frequently.
