Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is one of the unrecognized killers diagnosable on echocardiogram.   ECG changes are usually present as well, but none of these changes are constant or diagnostic.   It is one of the causes of sudden unexplained cardiac death - sometimes in young people.   This disorder, along with Brugada Syndrome and prolonged QT interval are sometimes recognized on ECG in asymptomatic patients.
